Depression And Exercise
Get Moving To Get Happy!

Article

It a not so well known fact that there is a direct link between depression and exercise. Exercise, in fact, decreases the negative impact that depression can play on the mind and body.

The reason why that's so often true is because one's physical health affects his or her emotional health and vice versa. Thus, is we feed our bodies with healthy exercise, we are also feeding our mind with a more positive energy.

Without any exercise or positive thoughts we may feel as though we've fallen into a deep, dark hole that's impossible to get out of.

Tragically, some people never seem able to climb out of it.

But the grand silver lining is that once we realize what causes our depression and what can make it go away, we can then easily see a way out. If you're reading this article, then you've taken an important step in the right direction.

Depression is linked to many factors. There are several types of depression, some more severe. However, one thing is true in all cases: the relationship between depression and exercise is one in which regular exercise helps to lessen the negative impact of depression.

What does this mean? The more regular healthy exercise you get, the less stress you will bottle up inside and the happier you will be!

Of course you want to address your depression from every side, but it's probably a good start to simply get up and take a walk. Gradually add in a workout to your daily routine and try to stay active. But today, it's probably enough to just recognize how depression and exercise work together.

Couch potatoes may think they'd prefer to lay around and watch television and snack all day. But in actuality, they'd probably be a lot more satisfied with life if they were out and about.

It's not a new discovery that depression and exercise are linked (inversely). But in the early 1900's, it was more of an unusual concept. This is because during that time, depression still wasn't fully understood.

However, Dr. Orison Swett Marden, the popular self-help author of the time (and the only one at that time) introduced the powerful idea to Americans: that their body and their mind must be in sync.

Dr. Marden wrote several inspiring books, like “Masterful Personality,” and reader after reader found a new life in his message.

Today, you can benefit from Marden’s wisdom – and you don't even have to flip a page. While you're on the road or doing dishes or jogging, you can listen to five audiobooks of Dr. Marden's most treasured classics with the Leadership Series For Successful Living. All you have to do is download them online; it couldn't be any more convenient and easy.

In the meantime, get up and get active and get happy!
