Identify Depression Signs

Depression signs: How to notice them and get back on track.

Have you noticed signs of depression in yourself
or a teenage family member?

Leadership Quote

"The future depends on what we do in the present."

- Mahatma Gandhi

It can be hard to tell if your child is suffering from the typical angst of adolescence or from more serious depression, but fortunately, there are lots of signs you can be on the look out for.

If your adolescent is experiencing such intense hopelessness and despair that it affects their ability to function, then you may very well have a problem on your hands that demands immediate mental and medical evaluation.

Teens are naturally emotional people, but if your teen seems to be crying constantly and is obsessed with sad, angry, and pessimistic themes in music and film, then that's reason to take notice.

If your teen exhibits any of the following depression signs, you should take action:

  • Disinterest in hobbies they used to enjoy
  • Inability to communicate properly
  • Angry outbursts
  • Social isolation and an inability to maintain relationships with friends
  • Low energy
  • Drop in grades
  • Frequent headaches and stomach aches
  • Frequent absences in school
  • Changes in eating and sleeping habits
  • Abuse of drugs and alcohol
  • Self-injury or threats of self-injury

If your teen shows any of these depression signs, then your reaction should not be to panic – but instead to take proactive measures to give them the help they need.

Just talking to your son or daughter and simply lending an ear and a shoulder to lean on will likely not solve the problem.

You'll need outside help – from your church, extended family, and even the medical community.

An inspiring audio program can also give you a helping hand.

The late Dr. Orison Swett Marden was the founder of the America success movement and his books have inspired countless youths for over a century to take control of their destinies and find success and happiness in life.

LeadershipAudio.com offers this audiobook program at no risk to anyone interested in learning more about this amazing man and his teachings – it might just that one thing that “clicks” and can be instrumental in correcting depression signs and getting your teen back on track.

Even if you don't see such depression signs in your teen, the Leadership Series For Successful Living can still be a wonderful gift – as learning how to succeed in life at a young age will prepare your son or daughter for a long life of happiness! And what can be more valuable than that?

What your teen needs is hope. And by hearing about Dr. Marden's incredible life, that's exactly what they won't be able to escape.

This might just be the thing to put your teen back on a path of success.
