Free Online Education
Materials For The Aspiring Leader

Article

Looking for quality and free online education? No, this is not some sales pitch for a distance learning course of some sort that you can take online.

Rather, this is a call to action! Certainly, a degree can come in handy, but whether you've got no diploma or have earned multiple degrees, you should learn something new everyday.

Fortunately, in modern society, with the luxury of technology, you have no excuse not to.

In the past, people had to travel to the nearest library and carefully sift through book after book to find out the information they wanted to know. Furthermore, it was virtually impossible to find out much about current political issues and government policies beyond what the newspapers already reported.

However, things are completely different now. Free online education is all around us and we shouldn't waste it.

With a simple click of a button and web search, we can now gain access to tons of information on almost any area of study or interest we can imagine. This opportunity for a free online education is an exciting one!

Maybe when a library was completely out of reach from someone, was it understandable why many who lived in the country were ignorant about certain issues. However, in the 21st century – we can only blame our ignorance on pure laziness.

So how does one properly go about getting a free online education? How does he or she know which resources to trust? Anyone can post anything on the web, so we must approach our search with some reasonable caution.

Well, here are some tips: URL's that end in .edu and .gov are all safe bets for scholarly and accurate information; certain search engines are more reliable than others – Google Scholar and Lexus Nexus are both great for research; and lastly, it's always a good idea to simply verify information that comes from potentially unreliable sources.

Additionally, the Internet can get you connected to online resources that may not be free but otherwise, would not be in existence.

For instance, there are many wonderful, low-cost, web-based products out there at your fingertips (literally!), and one of the best is the Leadership Series For Successful Living.

With this powerful leadership audio series, you can listen to five of Dr. Orison Swett Marden's classic books online.

Dr. Marden, the 20th century author of self-help masterpieces like “Be Good To Yourself,” would have been thrilled at the tremendous access an individual has to information – as Dr. Marden was a major advocate of education and its importance to a person's development.
