Good Leadership Skills
Greater Joy & Fulfillment

Article

Good leadership skills are not always well developed in the people who lead the workplace. Can you even recognize a good leader when you see him or her?

If you're the head of a business, or you manage a team within your organization, it's important that you learn how to be an effective leader.

The important thing to understand is leaders come in all shapes and sizes and there are different styles of leadership that can be highly productive.

So if you don't think you'll ever be able to speak as eloquently as our most famous and dynamic leaders, don't fret. You only need to learn what your individual strengths are and how to tap into them so as to be a good leader.

Your current skill-set may not be the good leadership skills of the next person – but understand that you are a unique human being with unique gifts to offer the world.

Once you grasp this, and realize that you have the ability to learn and grow and improve, there will be no turning back!

So what are some different leadership styles to consider? There are the hands-on, authoritative leaders, the laid-back leaders that give a bit of direction and then sit back and watch, and the leader that is both commanding and calm.

What leadership style you choose to adopt, you must think about your particular goals and how your good leadership skills can add value to your entire team.

You could learn a lot about leadership by reading the works of Dr. Orison Swett Marden.

Marden was a man who was one of the leading thinkers and writers in 20th century America. He arose out of poverty and abuse to become the first self-help author in the country.

The main appeal of his classic books continue to be that he enthusiastically believed that every individual, no matter what their natural ability or IQ, had tremendous reserves within themselves.

Once they have a true realization of that, along with a stern resolve to learn and grow, life will propel them to tremendous successes in life.

Marden particularly believed this about leadership. Dr. Marden did not see much use of “leaners” and “wishers” on this planet and he encouraged the bold leader inside every person to come out.

This is the mentality you should have as you try to adopt and develop good leadership skills.

Dr. Marden wrote several inspiring books that were just as practical as they were gorgeously written. For instance, in “Keeping Fit,” he gave sensible advice about eating right and leading a healthy life so as to ensure success, happiness and joy in ones life experience.

With the Leadership Series For Successful Living, you can conveniently download five of his classics online and listen to them immediately, risk free!
