High School Stress
Tools You Can Use

Article

High school stress related symptoms are becoming more prevalent in today’s teenagers.

If you feel like your parents, your teachers, and maybe even your friends just don't understand you and you feel like you're incredibly close to finally cracking under all the pressure, then it's time to make a change.

Leadership Quote

"Life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments."

- Rose Kennedy

Today's youth has, in some respects, several entirely different issues to battle than generations before it.

Modern society offers adolescents access to an unprecedented amount of information and multimedia: film, television, music, video games, etc.

Teenagers have immediate access to much of this multimedia via the World Wide Web. As well, teens of today increasingly have to deal with divorced families and pressures to get into college.

All of these issues and more, result in increased amounts of high school stress. It is a unique beast indeed.

Adults typically can't relate to it and even therapists and high school counselors seem a bit in the dark about the phenomenon. We don’t quickly recognize or relate to what teens are experiencing because it is so different from our own experiences.

In other respects, however, we can do a much better job of recognizing teen issues if we are alert and on the lookout for the symptoms of high school stress related symptoms.

While every generation is unique, some things never change.

For instance, every teenager will have to deal with relationship issues, difficult exams or meeting the expectations of parents and teachers. Normal high school life is enough to stress any teen out.

However, there is a greater more significant high school stress plaguing students across the nation and it's evident in the high rates of teen depression, suicide, and violence. So it obviously must be dealt with in a very proactive manner.

No one has to become a victim of high school stress. If you're eager to hear from someone who can change your blurred reality into a more focused picture, read Dr. Orison Swett Marden's “Be Good To Yourself.”

In this classic book, the famous author of the 1900's sets out to paint a portrait of a happy and successful individual – and this information has inspiring millions of people who strive for self-improvement and a more fulfilling lifestyle.

Dr. Marden’s most important work can be downloaded online and listened to with the Leadership Series For Successful Living.

Dr. Marden's message is especially appropriate for today’s youth. His writing is compelling to young people because he grew up a poor and oppressed orphan.

Marden knew his young readers are an impressionable audience who has yet to develop strong negative thinking habits, so they can still dream big dreams.
