How To Reduce Stress
and Start Living Again!

Article

Finding options on how to reduce stress in our lives is a common desire.

Feeling like you are haunted with work related pressures, dealing with relationship issues, and just getting through the daily responsibilities of family life can be very difficult.

Additional outside pressures such as money problems, career issues, family pressures and a whole host of other items can compound stress to a level that seems unbearable to some.

This is why we all need to learn how to reduce stress.

Don't worry, there is hope and there are real tools that can help you in your quest for a less stressful and more fulfilling life.

Here's how to reduce stress in five easy steps.

  1. Music
Music can be an extremely powerful way to turn negative energy into positive energy. Whether you love jazz or classical music, simply turn on a CD with your favorite songs and just listen to it.

Suddenly, you'll find yourself in a good mood and your mind will calm down. Even when you're at work doing your daily tasks or at home doing chores, simply listening to some music can make a big difference in decreasing your stress levels.

  2. Physical comforts
Bubble baths. Neck massages. A nap on the couch. If you're feeling anxious and stressed, your body is probably as uncomfortable and strained as your mind. Simply taking a hot bubble bath or going on a relaxing walk through the neighborhood can really improve your emotional wellbeing.
  3. Eat your veggies!
Eating healthy foods – and also getting at least eight hours of sleep every night – can have an enormous effect on all areas of your life. Not only is a nutritional diet good for your immune system, something that stress threatens, but it can actually decrease your stress levels.

Getting a couple extra hours sleep can make a world of difference in your ability to cope with the daily challenges that you will most certainly be confronted with.

  4. The pen is mighty
People are often amazed at how much it can help to simply jot down all their thoughts, however random and chaotic, onto a piece of paper. Keep a journal! And don't limit your writing. Write about whatever you want to.

If you can release your concerns and worries onto paper, they will no longer bog down your mind and you will feel the stress gradually disappear. Writing allows you the time to also think through your thoughts and you can be amazed at how many new solutions will come to you during the process.

  5. Ask for help
Sometimes we may know how to reduce stress, but we just can't seem to do it by ourselves. It's okay to seek outside help for your stress, especially if it is severe and inhibiting your everyday routine and overall happiness in life.

A therapist and/or medication may be what you need so don’t rule it out if other solutions do not provide the peace in your life that you seek.

You also might want to read some self-help books. Dr. Orison Swett Marden, the founder of the American success movement in the 1800's, published a series of self-help books that have and will continue to inspire every person from every walk of life.

In his book “Little Visits With Great Americans,” for example, Dr. Marden delivers the narratives of a slew of successful people who embodied the characteristics that we all ought to try to find within ourselves.

Dr. Marden believed that man was not measured by the amount of money in his bank account, but by his character. And the good news is character begets success, often financial! So if you need a little guidance, see if the Leadership Series For Successful Living, which offers Dr. Marden's most powerful books in a convenient, easy to download audio format, can be of service!

Hopefully now you're more informed about how to reduce stress and you can use these tips to regain some peace of mind and happiness.

You deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor each and every day, no matter how challenging your job or relationships are.

So take advantage of every tool and resource available to you to ensure your success!
