Leadership Article
Hold On To Those Dreams

Article

If you're browsing for a leadership article, you've come to the right place. So few people really understand what leadership is all about. As a result, they lack the understanding that allows them to become a truly great leader.

Unfortunately, many resign themselves to a less ambitious fate and end up retiring goals and dreams they used to entertain in their more youthful, optimistic years.

How unfortunate it is that so many people don't fulfill their potential as human beings on this planet.

Do you want to be put in this category? Well, you have the ability right now to choose a life where you can look back on it with no regrets.

The good news is if you're reading this article, you're off to a good start.

In this leadership article, we will talk about what leadership is. Images of ancient rulers and contemporary politicians probably flash through your head – from wonderful leaders like Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy, to the most despicable and ruthless leaders, which we won't even name here.

You may have the idea that a leader is someone who is greater than life and greater than you will ever be.

This was a way of thinking that Dr. Orison Swett Marden, author of classic books like “Thoughts About Good Cheer,” wanted to change in America.

Marden was a leader in his own right, but in the majority of his books, he set out to bring the lives of successful, prominent leaders of his time, and throughout history, to the attention of young Americans in an intimate, eloquent way.

Several of his books essentially consisted of leadership article after leadership article – he even published a magazine called Success. Dr. Marden understood that people, especially younger people, learned by example. They became energized by the stories of others who overcame challenges and became victorious.

As a result, Dr. Marden wanted to show people that even the most powerful and successful people living among them weren't all that more extraordinary than them!

Dr. Marden firmly believed that will power and determination were the keys to success – not necessarily a terribly high IQ or amazing talent and ability.

This concept was revolutionary in America during the 20th century and it is for this reason that Dr. Marden became such a famous writer and important figure in the history of the United States.
