Leadership Definition
How They All Succeeded

Article

What do you think the best leadership definition is? If you were asked to list off some of the greatest leaders, who would you name?

Past U.S. presidents? Army commanders? Well, while these are all epic examples of leaders – leaders come in all shapes and forms and there is a leader within every single one of us.

And, while the typical leadership definition that comes to mind is a person who simply inspires the masses and guides them – there is a lot more to it than that.

Different types of leaders must work together and delegate work to each other, etc. It's all quite an integrated process really.

For those who want to be successful and are interested in a more comprehensive leadership definition than they have previously held, it would probably benefit them to read the famous book “How They Succeeded.”

The book's author, Dr. Orison Swett Marden, was one of the great leaders of America. His readers, during the late 1800’s, were learning how to cope with a new sense of individual freedom in their capitalist nation.

Dr. Marden was inspired by the literary giants of his time, in particular the Scottish writer Samuel Smiles. He helped to communicate a message of self-help and self-reliance to his American audience in a series of popular success books, the first of their kind really.

“How They Succeeded” was one of these books, except it was different from the rest in that it was simply a collection of features that had been originally published in the magazine Dr. Marden founded, Success.

“How They Succeeded” will give you an incredible glimpse into American success stories like Rockefeller and Carnegie and show you how they achieved such wealth, despite their living during one of the most difficult times in history.

But at the core of Dr. Marden's book is not simply a strategy for financial success in business – instead the concept that good character and self-discipline is what propels people forward is reinforced in every chapter.

Often the leadership definition is illustrated through inspiring stories and anecdotes.

This is no book of “get-rich” schemes. And that's why it's so very refreshing in the 21st century!

In addition to “How They Succeeded” you are encouraged to listen to Leadership Series For Successful Living, a leadership audiobook series packed full of Marden’s timeless life lessons.

So, if you're looking for a little inspiration and pick-up to your life, download Dr. Marden's teachings see what the inventor of the self-help movement can do you for you.
