Leadership Prayers
Encouraging The Leader

Article

Leadership prayers are powerful and invaluable. Leadership is so very crucial for the direction of any group or organization and of course, our country.

If you believe in the Divine and you are going to pray for just one thing, it should be for your leaders to have good judgment and common sense.

Leadership Quote

"If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall in the ditch."

- Jesus Christ

The power of prayer not only helps the one who is prayed for, but it also helps to heal and support the person who initiates the prayer.

Prayer is one way to connect with a person or place when you are unable to physically see or touch them.

To understand what leadership prayers are all about, consider the leader of your own church or business. If you're the head of a church, then you will benefit from prayers designed to help give you inner-strength and faith.

However, a church as a whole might direct their leadership prayers toward the U.S. President or local officials.

Other leaders as well, might use leadership prayers to help them guide their office or classroom or organization, etc.

For example, a schoolteacher might pray for patience with her students and an open mind about how to teach lessons in a different, refreshing way, etc.

To be clear, prayer is prayer. The term, leadership prayer is used here in the context that everyone, not just the needy or impoverished, benefit from personal prayer and the prayer offered by others.

Prayer, meditation, or just a few minutes of silence for the purpose of deep thought, can be extremely beneficial to anyone seeking thoughtful and effective solutions.

If you need a little more motivation to summon the strength to be a good leader, a wise investment would be “Getting On,” an enlightening and motivational book about how we can use our own unique traits to go to the front of the line and lead.

The author, Dr. Orison Swett Marden, believed that the treasures of life were waiting for those who were not lazy followers, but brave innovators and teachers.

“Getting On” is a thrilling book to read if you're on the cusp of something big and are afraid to take that leap of faith – it will give you the inspiration to trust yourself and only think positively about your future.

With the Leadership Series For Successful Living, you can listen to five of Dr. Marden's other classic books online.

So hy is Dr. Marden such a strong personality with regards to leadership? In his many self-help books – which were the first of their kind in 20th century America – he chronicled the lives of many of the most successful leaders in the country.

Marden believed that what distinguished the successful people from ordinary people was not natural intelligence or ability, but simply the will power and unrelenting belief in their own determination.

Thus, Dr. Marden was a very spiritual man – he only overtly discusses his belief and reliance on God, but it is clear that his teachings are supported and draped in the idea of Faith.
