Negative Effects Of Stress
A Call To Action!

Article

Do you know the negative effects of stress? You may know some of them, but chances are you're not completely aware of the short and long-term consequences of living a life of worry and hurry.

We'll identify some symptoms of stress to watch out for – if you or someone you know is experiencing one or more of these symptoms, then it's probably time to take a breather and reevaluate your daily routine.

Besides, when you really think about it, what good ever comes from feelings of worry or fear?

Fear and worry are the most unproductive, and sometime destructive, emotions you can allow yourself to experience.

Taking action is the best way to get past these feelings so that you can stay on a productive path that is healthy and positive.

You might think the negative effects of stress only apply to your emotional wellbeing, but that couldn't be father from the truth.

Here are some ways that your body responds to stress:

  • Fast heartbeat
  • Tension headache
  • Sore back
  • Profuse sweating
  • Stomachache
  • Vomiting

Moreover, your mood and the way you treat your tasks and relationships in life will likely be affected.

Ask yourself if you are...

  • Easily angered and/or upset
  • Feel constantly fatigued
  • Feel like you're constantly working but never getting anything accomplished
  • Feeling doubts about yourself and your future
  • Fantasize about bad, instead of positive, outcomes

Generally, there are acute and chronic stress problems. An acute stress disorder is the result of a traumatic event, while a chronic stress disorder is usually due to an accumulation of a bunch of factors.

All of the symptoms above can lead to serious and even life-threatening cardiovascular problems, weight gain or loss, arthritis, regular bouts with flu-like illnesses, and a host of other negative effects of stress.

After reading about all these often scary negative effects of stress, you probably feel motivated to do something about it. But what?

The trick is to control your thinking so that your mind is not constantly consumed with doubt and worry and thus your body won't suffer as a result. Let these negative emotions (fear, doubt, worry, etc…) become a trigger in your mind that tells you to take action!

Dr. Orison Swett Marden was one of the leaders of the New Thought movement in America, and his book “Every Man a King” is a powerful tool for those who want to change their thinking habits.

In addition, with the Leadership Series For Successful Living, you can listen his high powered teachings by downloading the audiobook series online.

If you can't help yourself, it's okay to talk to someone. Whether it be a therapist or a parent or a spouse, it's always good to ask for advice from people who are prepared to listen to you.

Do whatever you need to do to address the negative effects of stress, because when it comes right down to it, you are worth it, and life is too short not to live it happily.
