Personal Development Growth
How To Help Yourself

Article

Personal development growth is a new concept for many.

It seems that every one of us hits a wall at some point in our lives, where we feel we'll stagnate or go downhill unless we actively work toward our own personal growth and developement.

Leadership Quote

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal."

- Henry Ford

Maybe it's a mid-life crisis or divorce or dead-end job that ignites this desire for change, but unless we have the tools and resources necessary to make such inner growth happen – we risk our very happiness.

Dr. Orison Swett Marden was the leader, and in actuality the creator, of the American success movement – which began in the 1800's. The author of a slew of popular self-help books from the 19th century grew up a very poor and often mistreated orphan.

Yet, despite his struggles, and in fact as a result of them, Dr. Marden was intent on being in charge of his own destiny. Rather than simply being another victim of unfortunate circumstances, he set out to achieve success in every area of his life.

In his many success-related books, he uses his own experiences and age-old, time-tested wisdom to inspire others to do the same.

At the center of Marden’s teachings is the idea that “character counts” and that true character is the foundation of real success. Character is indeed a prime trait for personal development growth.

In his aptly-titled book “Success,” Dr. Marden uses real-life examples of common men and women who achieved extraordinary success in their lives and also seeks to inspire his readers to want success. Unless somebody wants to change their life, they really can't.

If you're truly willing to take the steps to achieve personal development growth, then you're on the right track!

You're already a likely success story, as where there is a will – there is always a way. So what is your next step?

Remember, “Life makes way for the determined.”
