Relevance In Education
A Clear Path To Purpose

Article

What is the relevance in education to your life? It's pretty common these days that high school graduates go on to become college graduates – or at least many try to go in this direction.

But perhaps there is a downside to this increased college enrollment: people start to take their university education for granted. This is a real shame.

Education has been stressed as important – by our parents and/or our teachers – ever since we were young and we are often told that we won't get a good job without it.

But what is the real relevance in education to our lives? Does it just make our resume look good so that we are hired for a high-paying job? Or is the relevance in education something much greater than that? The beautiful truth is – yes.

The benefits of education is only what you make of it. It may just be your ticket to financial success and freedom, but it’s not a sure-fired ticket if you don't know what your true calling in life should be.

Education is way to help you discover yourself and the world around you.

With such powerful knowledge, you can more easily discover your true destiny and follow it with the confidence, assertiveness and direction that only the most self-assured people can do.

So, if you ever doubted your ability to be successful in life, and the importance and relevance in education, then know that if you take full advantage of your education, you will make sure that it points you in the direction of your true ambition.

It's also important to note that education should not be looked at in the context of a university alone. A self-educated man may be vastly more enlightened than a graduate school student.

Again – education is what you make of it!

Dr. Orison Swett Marden, the acclaimed self-help author of the early 1900's whose final published book was “The Conquest of Worry,” was one of the very first bold advocates of education. (Dr. Marden invented the success movement and paved the way for the self-help “gurus” of today.)

Education freed Marden from his poverty and unhappy childhood and as a result, he strongly encouraged the pursuit of it.

If you want to get to know Dr. Marden more, you can listen to five of his most treasured books online with the Leadership Series For Successful Living. Why not educate yourself about why and how you can use education to lead you to a path of success and true happiness?
