Self esteem activities can be powerful tools to help you lead a more fulfilling life? You my be feeling discouraged, fearful or inadequate if you are suffering from poor self esteem. Certainly, if your confidence is low, your level of ambition will follow the same direction. Thus you won't be fulfilling your true potential, and that’s just not acceptable!
There are a lot of goals and dreams out there that are just waiting for you to find them! But in order to believe that you are capable enough of achieving greatness, you have to believe that you are great. We always grow up being taught that we are “special” and “unique.” However, outside elements can chip away at us, and slowly our self esteem can diminish. Perhaps we need some effective self esteem activities to guide us back to that place where there is infinite possibility. We have limitless emotional reserves within us that we probably have just not tapped into yet. How do we relocate our inner reserves? There are many self esteem activities that we can practice to help us get energized and excited about our future. So, let's get to it – what are they? Well, there are many self esteem activities for young people in grade school. For the adult, however, there are activities as well. One of those activities is to make a list of the things you like and dislike about yourself. Then you must identify the qualities you have control over and can change. Most likely, you'll find that the things you dislike about yourself are typically easy to alter and once you scratch those out of the equation, the list of positive things will greatly outweigh the negative! This is an effective activity that will get you to seriously think about improving yourself and changing your life as a result. Self esteem activities can come is countless forms. Another self esteem activity is to create a daily routine of self-affirmation. Write a few lines out, like “I am a beautiful person, on the inside and outside, and there is no end to what I can accomplish...” and say this to yourself in the mirror every day. Maybe at first it will be difficult, and feel corny, to say these words and believe them, but after a while it will seem like common sense and you will receive a boost of empowerment from this newly formed habit. Lastly, be sure to practice the art of positive thinking. Most stress related illness and poor self esteem comes directly from our own negative self talk. The good news is that this is something you can begin to change immediately. Catch and correct yourself every time you hear yourself saying something negative, as it does not serve you in any way. Grasp hold of the positive and you will begin to visualize the possibilities in life. This is probably the one most important thing to do out of all the various self esteem activities. Try it! Another resource for you is Dr. Orison Swett Marden. He was the inventor of the self-help movement in the early 20th century, after all, and his book “How to Get What You Want” was powerfully encouraging. Marden taught readers that immense success and happiness was right at their fingertips: they simply had to want it and firmly believe that they had the ability to get it. If your self esteem is at an all-time low, Dr. Marden may be just the man to give you the boost you need. Now, you can even listen to five of his most powerful books online with the Leadership Series For Successful Living.
