Self Esteem In Children
Nothing Is More Important

Article

Self esteem in children should be nurtured from every front. After all, the youth of today is America's future and if they aren't properly brought up, our future is in jeopardy.

People frequently moan and groan about corrupt politicians, businessmen, thieves, murderers, and other wrongdoers of society. Since we can't really legislate morality or catch every criminal, it seems the real solution to the nation's ills is to raise our children well, so that they grow up to be adults with character.

To elaborate, a person is destructive to others and also self-destructive when they do not see worth in themselves and thus do not see a purpose for living.

In order to feel there is meaning in life, a person must believe that they are capable of doing great things and in order for a person to believe that, they have to believe in themselves – their own self-worth!

Building the self esteem in children is where it all begins.

Healthy and positive self esteem in children must be fostered. Dr. Orison Swett Marden was one of the leading thinkers of the 19th century and he published a series of self-help books about achieving success and happiness in life – at home and at work.

What made him such a special writer was that much of his message was focused toward the youth in America. Growing up an orphan, being mistreated in a number of foster homes, he understood better than most that the children are the ones who would direct the country's fate and they were also the most impressionable.

In his books, like “The Young Man Entering Business,” he delivered inspiring autobiographies about great success stories – as children love a good story – and gave advice in practical, straightforward, though no less eloquent, language.

Dr. Marden was one of the first writers to place such an emphasis on the importance of self esteem in children. He made the connection that self esteem led to good character, which led to success and happiness in life.

Self esteem doesn't come from a simple pat on the back; it comes from a child's own self-determination and accomplishment.

If you are a parent who's looking for books that might inspire your child, or yourself, the Leadership Series For Successful Livingoffers Dr. Marden's most important work online in an audio format!

This new series is sure to appeal to you, and best of all you try it out risk free, so take some time out for yourself and give it a listen.
