Side Effects Of Stress
Prevent Undo Stress In Your Life

Article

What are the side effects of stress for the typical American woman? Females these days have to deal with a whole new world that generations before them hadn't even imagined.

Not only do they still tend to maintain the roles of “domestic housewife,” but they also often pursue full-time, intense careers.

Can a woman really juggle these two different jobs effectively? Should they have to?

In the radical book of it’s time, “Woman and Home”, written by Dr. Orison Swett Marden in the 1900's, readers were given an interesting comparison of the average woman's day to the average man's.

The traditional notion that the man 'supports' the wife and is an equal partner in the marriage was severely challenged; after all, a woman who is constantly doing house chores and raising the children throughout the entire day and may not even get a full night's rest, is clearly enduring a great deal more hardship than the man.

The man may log in a full day at work, but typically takes more time out to rest once he returns home.

Dr. Marden was indeed a man ahead of his time, but even his 20th century readers didn't take him for granted. He was the first self-help author in America – he defined the “success” movement. More importantly, his opinion about women and their domestic toil was proven correct as much study and research has supported his original theories.

Perhaps a woman is more appreciated today than she was before, but she still often has the same tasks she did before – with more work added on, as she has new freedom to chase after jobs outside the home.

This means that she may potentially experience a great deal more stress as pressures and responsibilities multiply. So it's important that we explore the side effects of stress.

The side effects of stress are often mild and inconsequential: a tension headache, a stomachache, sweaty palms. But other side effects of stress are far more serious: chronic illness and cardiovascular problems, like life-threatening heart attack.

These are all effects of stress that should not be taken lightly.

It is crucial that every woman fully analyze her current situation in this modern age and learn how to adapt to traditional roles that are coupled with modern freedoms!
