Stress Causes Illness
You Determine Your Destiny

Article

Not enough people realize that stress causes illness. If they did, they'd probably be enduring a lot less physical suffering and leading a much healthier, happier life.

Stress is one of the biggest enemies
to both our emotional and physical health.

That is because it not only directly affects our body by increasing out heart rate and thus increasing our risk for heart attack, it also weakens our immune system – making us fall ill more frequently.

It's not normal to get sick and feverish often, but if we have poor immune systems, we're vulnerable to all kinds of physical ailments.

Whether they be aches and pains or more serious diseases, the effects of stress make us realize that stress is not a friend, and it must be dealt with proactively every time it tries to creep into our lives.

It might a scary thought that stress causes illness if it currently has a strong grip on you. But the last thing you should do is dwell on your physical discomforts and worry. That is far from the solution.

Instead, you must determine what the causes of stress in your life are and actively change the parts of your daily routine and overall perspective on life that fuels stress!

Does this seem like an ambitious task? It is, but considering that stress causes illness and all kinds of other problems, it's one of the more important tasks you should take on in life.

So how do you cure stress? While there are a bunch of resources available, there's not any magic spell or quick fix you can apply to instantly remove stress from your life. Fortunately, you do have control – more control than anyone else that is – over your mind.

The thoughts you allow yourself to think; the thoughts you have made a habit of thinking, whether positive or negative, have a tremendous about of influence on your mental and physical health.

So although stress causes illness, you do not have to give in to the notion that you are powerless to conquer the stress in your life. You can quite often, literally think yourself healthy!

If you can begin to change your thinking habits so that you are not buried in worry, you can improve all aspects of your life, even your health. This was a concept that was imported to America from Europe by the 20th century self-help author Dr. Orison Swett Marden.

In his book “Training for Efficiency,” he insisted on the idea that a person's best advocate was himself and no one else.

While this idea of self-reliance may be intimidating to some, it should open up limitless possibility for you because it means that no circumstance or outside force can determine your future! Only YOU can do that!
