Stress Management Skills
For A Better Life!

Article

Stress management skills don’t always come naturally to us. Too many people today are totally and completely stressed out. Don't worry, if you are one of them, that just makes you normal.

Obviously, you don't want to add to your stress levels by taking on more “to-do’s” or signing up for more things to worry about. Instead, sit down, relax, take a deep breath and continue reading.

First, you must learn that stress is not an inevitable part of your life.

It is not what should drive you and motivate you to accomplish goals. Instead, you must view it as an enemy to not only your emotional wellbeing, but your physical body as well. Stress can have many adverse effects, sometimes severe, on a person's health.

Fortunately, there are lots of stress management skills that you can use that will vastly improve your life. It's amazing how much small lifestyle changes can change your life's path and suddenly, those goals you thought were so impossible and those dreams you thought were so mighty, are now being achieved and fulfilled.

Suddenly that stress that once plagued your everyday existence will find it hard to introduce itself back into your life.

So, what are we waiting for? Let's identify those stress management skills! Here are some tips to help you enjoy a more easy-going, stress-free life.

First, discover or rediscover a favorite hobby. Maybe you used to take piano lessons or write short stories. Or maybe you'd like to learn how to garden?

Whatever the case, it's important to incorporate a hobby, something you are passionate about, into your daily to weekly routine. Understand, don’t choose something that’s going to feel like work, it has to be fun or you’ll defeat the purpose.

Do something relaxing and enjoyable for once – whether it's knitting, playing basketball or chess.

Secondly, remember to breathe deep breaths. Sometimes you just need to take five minutes out of the day to sit with your thoughts alone in the quiet.

Daily meditations and breathing exercises can make a big difference in one’s ability to make good decisions, process information in a healthy manner, and to ensure that one doesn’t become overwhelmed. Our last recommendation is to read the amazing teachings of Dr. Orison Swett Marden. There is a sea of self-help books out there to choose from, and a lot of them are quite helpful. But if you want the best of the best, you should read Dr. Marden's special collection.

In fact, you can listen to his most inspiring books online with the Leadership Series For Successful Living, risk free!

Dr. Marden was a prominent writer of the 1900's and he dispersed a hopeful message that as long as one believed in themselves, there was no limitations to what they could achieve.

You could say Dr. Marden's series of books are packed full of stress management skills that are readily applicable to your life.
