Chances are, if you live in America you could benefit from learning some stress relief techniques.

If you feel like you're constantly battling stress and anxiety, take a deep breath, calm down, relax, and soak in some of the following ideas for relieving stress.


Too often, workers in the United States find it challenging to settle their minds at the end of the work day, too simply unwind.

They unknowingly take their stress from work home with them. As a result, it should come as no surprise then that they encounter stress in the home.

Workplace stress, paired with the responsibilities of dealing with active children and/or relationship issues - whatever the case may be, stress is a reality for most people. But it's not something that has to take over your life.

You can indeed use the stress relief techniques below and take control over your life again and replace that stress with a happy peace of mind.

Stress relief techniques to try out:

  • Music is powerful! Make a mix tape of your favorite artists that features songs that are sure to put in you in a good mood. Listen to it whenever you feel overwhelmed by your worries in life.
  • It seems a cliché piece of advice, but a warm bubble bath can do just the trick to calm you down. Stress doesn't simply have emotional effects – it also has physical effects. And in turn, being physically uncomfortably and tense can lead to emotional discomfort! So take a hot bath or take turns giving back massages with a loved one. To relax your body, relax your mind.
  • Exercise for reduced stress. Schedule time out at least three days a week to put in a good work out. You will actually increase your energy level when you workout on a regular basis.
  • Eat and sleep right. If you can incorporate a nutritional diet into your daily routine and also get at least eight hours of sleep every night, the quality of your life will improve drastically. Not only will you find your stress levels decrease, but your overall emotional and physical wellbeing will improve.
  • It's important that you designate a certain portion of the day to simply sit with your thoughts and perhaps write them down. Whether you keep a journal and/or meditate for 15 minutes every day, it can make a big difference. Often stress is a result of feeling as though there is too much going on in your life and you can't get a handle on it.

    The simple step of writing down your thoughts is one of the best stress relief techniques you can leverage.

Enlist the help of self-awareness material to gain greater insight into yourself. Experts like Dr. Orison Marden can be of tremendous value.
