Stress Relief Tips
Joy & Prosperity:
Just Around The Corner

Article

Looking for some stress relief tips? Well, aren't we all! Americans these days are stressed to the point that they are literally putting their lives on the line.

Obesity, heart attack and heart disease, and several other kinds of physical ailments are claiming the lives of people every year. Many of these ailments have a very strange cause that we often neglect to diagnose: stress.

Yes, stress! When you're constantly worried about a deadline or your child's grades, or any number of things, then you are not only wearing down on your mind – but your body too.

Stress causes many things to happen: your immune system will weaken, your metabolism will slow down, and your heart rate may increase. All this can lead to frequent bouts of illness, weight gain, and mild to severe cardiovascular problems.

So, if you weren't all that serious about finding stress relief tips before – maybe you are now. After all, your all-around health is on the line!

The good news is that stress is an easy culprit to handle.

Here are some easy stress relief tips to keep in mind:

  • Get at least eight hours of sleep: if you're fighting fatigue throughout the day, it will only exacerbate your stress – plus a consistent regiment of sleep is vital for your physical health
  • Eat all the food groups: again, stress is worsened if you have an unhealthy diet
  • Keep a journal: sometimes our worries will easily float away if we can just release them by writing them down on paper
  • Talk! Don't bottle up all your anxieties, just as keeping a journal can help you relieve your mind, so can talking to friends, family members, and of course a therapist if necessary
  • Relax your body to relax your mind: from massages to bubble baths to acupuncture, all these relaxation techniques are great stress relief tips

If you want a few more self help resources, check out Dr. Marden's great line of books, originally published in the early 1900's. His classic “Round Pegs in Square Holes,” for instance, is a great way to help you replace stress with focus and drive in your life.

Dr. Marden is all the more reachable today as you can listen to five of his books with the Leadership Series For Successful Living – all you have to do is download it, risk free, online!

If these stress relief tips don't help, then you may want to consider more drastic changes to your lifestyle.

Exercise more. Change jobs. Move to a different city. Stress is big enough of an enemy to be treated with seriousness!
