There is no reason to keep living a life full of pressure, worry, fear, anxiety, depression or even panic.

It’s time to say “enough”, and get on about the business of learning how to deal more effectively with the little pressures of daily life that have been building up in your system over the years.

  1. Eat and sleep right
    It seems simple enough, but eating nutritious foods and sleeping at least eight hours a night can vastly improve not only your physical, but your emotional, well-being and thus contribute to a stress-free lifestyle.
  2. It's okay to have fun
    When we're under stress, our reaction is often to tackle our work and try to get as much done as possible. But this won't help the situation. There will always be more work to do. Of these ten tips to stress management, this is probably the most important.

    Remember to take time out of every day to simply chill out – not only will you feel better, but you will actually have more energy to get tasks done as a result.

  3. Keep a journal
    Often we are anxious because we have bottled up our fears and worries. If we can write about all of what concerns us, we can free ourselves from much of our stress. As well, once we see how trivial some of our concerns are, on paper, it can be help us to laugh today's troubles off.
  4. Just say no
    You don't have to be a superhero. It's okay to say no to some jobs and tasks!

    In addition to relaxing, it's also a good idea to develop a hobby or rediscover an old one – like playing the piano, painting, or gardening. But make sure this new activity doesn’t become another “job” or “to do” in your life. If it’s not fun, don’t add it to your plate.
  6. Talk it out
    Sometimes all you need is to just vent to a friend, family member, or significant other. It also might be beneficial to talk to a professional about your problems.
  7. Stay organized
    Keeping your work and home environment clean and organized is not only a smart thing to do, but a messy lifestyle can contribute to your stress, so try to minimize the clutter.
  8. Music is powerful
    Music has an interesting effect upon people – it can help to unlock emotions or quiet emotions. Make a mix CD that you can turn to whenever you're feeling overburdened. There's nothing quite like listening to a favorite song to put you in a good mood.
  9. Meditate
    This is cliché advice, but it really does work. Find a time of the morning, afternoon, or evening where you can just relax and listen to only your breathing and the natural sounds of the outdoors.

    If you're religious, you can pray. This is a perfect opportunity to free your mind and your life of stress.

  10. It's okay to ask for help
    As mentioned earlier, it might benefit you to seek outside help for dealing with stress.
