You might be surprised at how eager people are to be of service. And you can return the favor later!
- Meditate – yep, it works. The value of simply sitting with your thoughts in complete silence is hard to exaggerate. Just setting a portion of the day aside for a little meditation (or prayer) can make a big difference in your life, helping you to sort out all your worries before the madness begins.
- Write, write, write – keep a personal diary where you feel free to vent all your frustrations. Once we release our worries and concerns from our mind and put them onto a page, we will feel major stress relief. If you don't feel comfortable talking to someone about your problems, write about them. Some of you best solutions will come to you during this time of reflection.
- Find a hobby and incorporate it into your weekly schedule. Be careful, however, not to create another job for yourself. Make sure this is something you get total enjoyment from.
- Take a vacation! - hey, you’ve earned it. Take time out to spend quality time with your loved ones. They deserve it too!
- Get in touch with nature – often we get so absorbed in the Internet or the television that we lose perspective on what’s really important. Reminding ourselves of the beauty of nature and the fact that we humans only play a small role in it can really help to minimize our everyday worries and thus relieve stress.
Find strength in others! Of all the ways to manage stress, this is probably the most important. You want to be self-reliant, but the best way to do that is to discover how others found success and happiness in life.
