What Is Low Self Esteem?
Ambition, Dreams & Goals To Renew!

Article

What is low self esteem? For many this is a difficult question to answer because the answer can entail so much that is vague and abstract.

You might think you do know the answer, but there is a good chance that your answer will be incomplete or perhaps wrong altogether.

That's because self esteem is rarely ever thoroughly analyzed.

It is brushed off as being a problem for only the weakest and most troubled among us. But the tragedy is we may all suffer from some level of low self esteem.

These days, many Americans are hard workers who strive to achieve lofty goals. However, there is a certain optimistic spirit that has been lost since the country's early days.

Perhaps now that the West has been settled and the corporations have seemingly taken over, people's ideas about the future have morphed into less extravagant ones.

So, what is low self esteem? Well, we probably don't have to look much further than ourselves to really understand the definition of it.

Dr. Orison Swett Marden believed that it was a rare occasion that a person actually lives up to his or her potential. Even the most apparently successful people are probably capable of doing more – whether in their personal relationships or while on the job.

This was the main message that Dr. Marden expressed in his many popular books that he published in the early 1900's.

If you're only mildly satisfied with your life and you don't feel particularly excited about your short and long-term goals, then you might be in the category of people that Dr. Marden sought to inspire.

So let's really find out the answer to “what is low self esteem?”. Let's be honest with ourselves for once.

Marden understood clearly, what is low self esteem.

Dr. Marden may appear a perfectionist to outsiders who've read little of his works. He was a relentlessly positive thinker who had faith that as long as other people had faith, they too would be able to chase after, and of course catch, even their most wild dreams (as long as such dreams were honorable and genuine).

This is a powerful concept and one that we could probably all apply to our lives for the betterment of ourselves.

Maybe you believed you had your act together, but now realize that you too have made the mis-step of retiring some of your most ambitious dreams and goals, and settled for less ambitious ones?

If so, then maybe your own self esteem has suffered to a degree, in the sense that you no longer think of yourself as capable to achieve those goals any longer.

The good news is you are capable, and there is still time to pursue your dreams and ambitions, and there is no time like the present to start again!

If you want to hear more from Dr. Marden, author of such classic books as “Pushing To The Front” and “The Progressive Business Man,” you can download his best books online with the Leadership Series For Successful Living.

Don’t wait another minute, take that first step to a happier and more joyful life now!
